I've lived in Santa Cruz my whole life, and I started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Kaijin when I was 17 years old. As soon as I started, I knew I had found something special. Since then, I've been training and competing as much as I can, as well as helping teach the kids classes at Kaijin and the adult classes at UCSC. Competing in tournaments is a major focus for me. Most recently, I took first place both in my weight division and the absolute division as an adult purple belt at the US Open of BJJ. I definitely feel the people at Kaijin are like an extended family, and I always look forward to the next class at Kaijin.
