The one and only Pete “the Greek” Letsos will be conducting a three hour seminar Sunday March 28th here at Kaijin / WCJJC. Pete will be covering his pressure game – specifically guard passing and pressure/attacks from side control. Pete has trained extensively with Carlson Gracie Sr, Carlson Gracie Jr, Oswaldo Alves and Terere. Pete even has a guard pass named after him! Don’t miss this opportunity to learn some of the secrets of the pressure game. As always, everyone is welcome. Hope to see you there!

Conditioning and Open Mat on Weekday Mornings!

Dion will open the school for a conditioning class for grappling at 630am every Monday through Friday in preparation for the Pan Ams. Drills will consist of scrambles, takedowns, sprawls and many more love/hate exercises. From 7am to 830am, Dion will host open mat for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, No Gi Submission Grappling, and Boxing. Friend of Kaijin (and Paul’s little brother) Quinn Mulhern, recently defeated an extremely tough Rich Clementi in KOTC. This win puts Quinn in title contention. Go Quinn!!!

Jiu Jitsu By The Sea Results

Our students had a great showing at this weekends tournament.

We had 6 kids compete and all 6 of them brought home medals! Nik Williams , Atticus Edge, and Gavin Geronimo all brought home the gold. Isabella Edge, Alana Geronimo, and Trace Laskey finished with bronze medals. Great work kids!!

In the adult brackets Anthony Duran and Loren White finished with gold medals. Jeff Heggem finished with a bronze.

My apologies to Nik and Isabella ……. somehow we didn’t get pictures of you on the podium.

Ryan Hall Seminar at Kaijin January 30th from 2-4pm

Fresh from outstanding performances at Abu Dhabi, Grapplers Quest and Gracie Nationals and en route to Tokyo for a superfight it the Deep promotion, Ryan will be conducting a 2 hour seminar this Saturday at Kaijin / West Cliff Jiu Jitsu Club. The seminar will take place from 2-4pm + rolling time afterwards. Ryan is not only an elite grappler, but he is a super Jiu Jitsu nerd who has a very unique principle based approach to teaching. Ryan is known for his 50/50 guard, leg attacks, d’arce chokes and back attacks. On Saturday he will be teaching how to integrate these movements and principles into your Jiu Jitsu. Hope to see you there. Everyone is welcome.

Temporary Yoga schedule change

Our wonderful yoga instructor Daniela is going on yoga sabbatical to India until March. Until she returns, we will not be holding bi-weekly yoga classes. Instead we will be offering a Stretch class on Fridays from 12-1pm. The Stretch class will focus on building flexibility and strength that relates directly to martial arts. We wish Daniela the very best on her yoga trip and we hope to see you on Fridays for our new, super awesome stretch class!!!
