When push comes to shove, it helps to know how to fall. That's why kids in tonight's jiujitsu class practiced falling efficiently, so they could dissipate the energy of a post-shove impact.

Then we moved on to a more technical maneuver: The Kimura. If your partner leaves their hands unattended, then the Kimura (from guard) is your new best friend. It's simple: Snatch the unattended wrist, hip escape, reach over the shoulder, grab your own wrist, fall back, and apply pressure. Be careful with this one, the pain comes on quickly!
